If you do not touch the meat, you will be required to purchase a drink for everyone in the bar. So, the man looks around the crowded bar to make an intelligent decision. Wheb the bar tender asks the man, “Are you going to try and touch the meat or purchase everyone in the bar a drink. The man replied I am not going to try, “The steaks are too high.”

This Week's Program

Sherrif Eric Taylor gave a program on the Border Crisis.
He recently spent several days in Chula Vista where he witnessed human trafficking and significant drug sales and or subsequent use.

He indicated that the Cartel preferred Human trafficking over drug sales because the human commodity can be utilized over and over without being replaced.

Eric gave an example of how someone could get into the Human Trafficking. He said a young girl, who was a good student, came from a great family and was on her way to college. When she got to college a man sweet-talked her and used persuasion to get her into Human Trafficking as a college recruit. This is one example of how it happens.

The cartels consider this to be a real money maker for them. Cartels own south of the border and U.S. Customs owns north of the border. Everyone pays the cartels to cross the border.

Eric told us about the 10 most violent cities in the world. He said the most violent city in the world is Tiajuana, Mexico.

Fentanyl replaced methamphetamine as the drug of choice. Last year the United States experienced 195,452 deaths attributed to the use of fentanyl.

The United States Customs agency has a new instrument to help find smuggled drugs and people hidden in vehicles. This instrument is a digital x-ray machine that can scan cars and the results of the scans can show hidden contraband. There are 26 lanes at the San Ysidro crossing coming into California and not every car is searched and not every car gets through. The new scanner can detect hidden compartments. They have found a gas tank full of meth amphetamine.

When smuggling people, they have the following stats coming into the country: 6,124,178 people were detained.
412,198 people with significant criminal connections.
195,872 people pending significant criminal charges.

At the San Ysidro crossing there have been in the last year: 27,656 Significant cases, 1,200 Actively tracked.

Last Year Northern and Central California had:

Northern California had 233,152 Actively Significant Cases
.
Central California had 383,395 Actively Significant Cases.

Of these only 5% are Mexican Nationals. The most prevalent influx is from Columbia and Western Africa.

China is extremely high at San Ysidro. It is where 95% of the Chinese coming into this country, pass through here at San Ysidro. U.S. Customs have captured 70 National Security risks so far this year.

Those who come though seeking asylum are given court dates set at 5-10 years out and released into the United States.

Thanks Eric, for this first-hand report on the crisis on the Southern border.
